Round 1 SAORC Mount Compass
Round 1 for the South Australian Off Road Championship was a sprint format with 2 separate loops averaging approximately 6 – 7 minutes each. Loop 1 was a tight / technical track weaving in and out of a creek bed. Loop 2 consisted of some more open terrain with some fast, whooped out, bull dusty straights and flowing creek sections.
I got off to a bit of a shaky start in the first sprint but quickly pulled it together and found some rhythm then proceeded to pick off the expert riders that had started in front of me one by one. I finished the day well, posting a position of 18th outright, of the 110 finishers, and brought home 1st place in clubman C1 class and also clubman outright.
